Experience

Roy specialises in working with entrepreneurial clients in areas such as software IP, know-how and unquoted tech companies as well asdeveloping holding structures for managers of hedge funds and multinational trading companies. He has extensive experience in dealing withstructures holding UK commercial property portfolios as well as working with local resident beneficiaries of international trusts.

Roy is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Born in Jersey in 1973, Roy was educated at Victoria College and Warwick University where he read Management Science. He joined the audit division of Ernst & Young in 1994 and moved to work within the tax consultancy division in 1997. In 2000 he joined the trust company division.

The trust business of Ernst & Young was subsequently acquired by the Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) in the same year. Roy was appointed a director of RBC’s trust business in 2002 and left RBC with several co-directors to help found Pentera Trust in 2005.

Roy is married to Kari and has a daughter. In his spare time Roy enjoys rifle shooting, waterskiing and is a keen gardener.
